   Syrian Quality Programme

For Better Quality Syrian Products – Programme for Strengthening Quality Management, Capabilities and Infrastructures in Syria

"Strengthening Quality Management, Capabilities and Infrastructures in Syria" is an EU-funded programme to be implemented by a consortium lead by Belium-based IBF International Consultancy on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and hosted by the Syrian Enterprise and Business Centre (SEBC).

The 12 million Euro programme, with an implementation period of 4 years, will support Syria to raise its quality legislation and institutions to best international standards. This should result in enhanced quality of Syrian goods and services, better Syrian consumer protection and increased competitiveness of Syrian products in international markets.

The Quality Management programme will provide technical assistance and equipment to Syrian institutions contributing to the quality infrastructure in Syria and assist Syria in the implementation of its new Quality Policy. Introducing quality controls on Syrian and imported products, in accordance with best international standards, it aims to protect Syrian consumers. The programme will also assist Syrian quality institutions to become internationally recognized and associated with international related organizations, e.g. the European CEN/CENELEC and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
