COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Turtle Shirts Co. is a privately owned company established in 1990. The company, which occupies 500 sqm. and employs 80 people, specialises in the production of shirts for children. It has an estimated daily capacity of 400 shirts, with an annual turnover of US$ 2,500,000.

PRODUCT:

Product range:

The company produces shirts for children and adults made of pure cotton. The fabric used in production is imported from Europe. The company manufactures under licence (F.M. Hammerle, Austria).

Sales:

The company sells 50% of its production on the local market through retailers and wholesalers and the remainder is exported to countries such as western Europe and Arab countries.

Manufacturing facilities :

The factory is equipped with modern, up-to-date machinery used in most stages of production. The management is seeking to improve quality and productivity by modernising and developing all the factory equipment.

Quality Control System:

The quality of the company’s products is high and meets international requirements. The company operates a quality control system at each stage of production and its employees have attended quality courses at the most qualified institutes in Damascus. The company is in the process of obtaining ISO 9000 certification.

BUSINESS OBJECTIVES:

The company seeks the following:

• To open new channels with European companies specialising in the production of children’s shirts.
• To introduce its products in Europe and to sell them in Europe also
• To increase export share by co-operating with European partners.
• Technical know-how transfer agreement.
