COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Hatahet and Hamad Trading Co. is a private company owned by Mouhamad Hatahet & Hamad established in 1976. The company specialises in the manufacture and sale of cotton and mixed fabrics. The company employs 110 people with a production capacity of 400 pcs per day (women’s, ready-made garments) and 1000 pcs per day (T-shirts and sweatshirts).

Product range:

The company produces the following products:

• T- shirts and sweatshirts
• Ladies ready to wear garments

Sales:

The company manufactures under its own trade mark and sells 20% of its product on the local market. The remaining 80% is sold on behalf of third parties to neighbouring countries and to countries such as UK, Greece and Spain.

Manufacturing facilities:

The company has two production lines: one for women’s ready-made garments and the other is a knitting line (T-shirts). It is equipped with a range of old and new machinery.

A new factory, to concentrate the whole production, is scheduled to be running in few months.

Quality Control System:

The company has high quality products with competitive prices that meet international standards.

It also applies a quality control system at every level of the production process.

BUSINESS OBJECTIVES:

The company wants to enhance and further develop its relationship with European companies in order to expand its export business and establish an internationally known name through:

• Agents or distributors of their products in European countries
• Co-operation in the form of sub-contract or production under licence.
• Agreements for the transfer of technical know-how in order to help them improve their production process.
